Twitter / Steve Rubel “PC Mag is another. I have a free sub but it goes in the trash.”
You don’t have to wait long, in the ol’ blogosphere, before another asshole fairly pleads, See me, I am fool. I like to promote such events, as they contribute to the democratization of happiness. That appearances shall be revealed to crumble like the shabby crap they are, and the meek shall inherit the earth.
Have I told this one before?
See, the correct reading of that line is not Shall in the sense of Someday in the future … that’s just one of those biblical Shall’s. What was meant, what is meant, is that the meek—meaning your links are few because you are not an obnoxious expert-at-nothing but getting your name in front of the public—honey, the earth is already yours, your task but to see this.
I know, I know, link lust is a powerful thing, but nothing is without price. One would have never dreamt, just a few years ago—but has not this writing web become one of the wretched-most places on earth for sin and emptiness, displaying themselves most nakedly. Alongside enormous kindness and generosity, people pouring out what they know. Turns out the biggest humbling human need is, ha, To Share.
No I’m not going to link to the scene where Steve Rubel and the editor of PC Magazine suck and make up. Instead, maybe you want to meditate alongside me: does business have to be disgusting, to work?

Yesterday (Tuesday, now that I post this) was kind of a gaggy day, in this little corner of the web. And it is little. I’m not sure some of the well-known bloggers involved really comprehend that. Least of all, the perps of Tuesday’s big stink.
I’m not even going to bother to preface this with all the “I identify with you as a woman” crap, because that should be a given. Not that there were many givens—which are, after all, the product of trust—around yesterday. Read the rest of this entry »

I just gotta be a smartass. Don’t I. Why can’t I just say, Thank you. Especially to the readers of my feed, for I have discovered—much to my horror—that New Blogger spits out a feed entry each time you republish, and republish one does, as one learns the ins and outs of steadfastly remaining Classic in a Semi-Beta world. Which probably makes no sense to anyone not on Blogger; suffice it to say, it’s completely nuts here, yet return I did, and from the even nuttier world of WordPress and—I can hardly type the letters—the nightmare of HTML-wrapped PHP. That arbiter of all things web, Technorati, has clearly if silently declared it: microscopic is in.
No, really. Someone—someone who could have been spending his or her time on any one of the numerous bugs in the Technorati index that Improbulous so patiently blogs, month after bloody fuckin’ month (year?)—has instead wasted god knows how much human energy designing, if that’s not too overstating the fact, the ultimate in blog badges: you cannot read it, it has no style, why, the damn thing almost isn’t there.*
It would be one thing, were this some earnest little startup—and it is quite another on the part of an outfit that has as if set out to annoy, overlook and otherwise alienate their free bread and butter, as has our dear Technorati. The name has always been genius, you’ve got to give them that.
Which has so many up and comings nipping at its heels … and there really was hardly ever any there there in the first place … but shh, don’t say anything. It will be too fun to see this all play out.

Redryder – phydeaux3, he of Blogger Forum fame—you know, the guy who saved your n00bie bacon more times than you care to remember, and why is it you don’t send him great wealth—writes,
After reading your last two posts, “Arggggh.2” and “Ewwww!” … can I make a suggestion on the title for your next post?
“Pfffffft!”
Shouldn’t be hard to come up with something for that, should it?
Wiseass.
