Remember how scared we were. A tiny bit of hope and a whole lot of fear. Man was right; it was a question of look within. I saw those two working it every day, in good cheer, hope and faith. Why not be brave enough to act that way myself? To contribute something decent, like hope, instead of comfy old cynicism.
Why does the good unseat us so. It is important that it does—and that we meet the challenge. Adults don’t have to be hard, they just have to be adult.
Cynics, take the day off. Take the year off. I know, leaves a big hole in the net, don’t it. I think the man will do just fine. Show a little courage. For if we learned one thing, it’s that the courage of Hope is the hardest, most fitting, humiliation of the modern mind. And that is what you want.
