Markets as Sick-Talk

Timbuk2 is more than a bag. It's more than a brand. Timbuk2 is a bond. To its owner, a Timbuk2 bag is a dependable, everyday companion. We see fierce, emotional attachments form between Timbuk2 customers and their bags all the time. A well-worn Timbuk2 bag has a certain patina—the stains and scars of everyday urban adventures. Many Timbuk2 bags are worn daily for a decade, or more, accompanying the owner through all sorts of defining life events. True to our legend of ‘indestructibility’, it's not uncommon for a Timbuk2 bag to outlive jobs, personal relationships, even pets. This is the Tao of Timbuk2.

What a bunch of empty motherfuckers we must be ...

It's more than a bag. But of course.

Ugh. This copy is indeed, ass! I work at Timbuk2 and will admit that somewhere on a very long list of priorities (below responding to blogs) is: remove "The Tao of Timbuk2" from website.
The language is from a past CEO that I never worked for. I *can* say that in my experience, the notion is not wrong. People freaking love their T2 bags and keep them for a long time (I've had mine since '98).
Your blog post just moved the "remove Tao of Timbuk2" to the top of my list.
Thanks!

that copy does blow pretty damn hard. but... timbuk2 will replace any bag you purchase from them, no matter the defect. i bought my first one in 2004 and when the zipper broke, i had a replacement (custom designed) bag at my door within a week.

so, yeah. kill the bs marketing language and just focus on the great customer service and quality product.
