Dell CEO Consumed With Envy

“The chief executive officer of Dell has claimed that the success of the iPod amounts to ‘a fad’, adding that Apple ‘isn't in the same league’ as his own company.”

Got that one right, Kev-boy.

“When I was growing up there was a product made by Sony called the Sony Walkman—a rage, everyone had to have one. Well you don't hear about the Walkman anymore.”

Steel trap.

“I believe that one-product wonders come and go. You have to have sustainable business models, sustainable strategy.”

Like being the Walmart of computer-makers? Like that?

“Creative Labs CEO Sim Wong Hoo called the iPod shuffle ‘worse than the cheapest Chinese player.’”

I sense a trend.
